Arabian pudding

Ingredients for Making Arabian Pudding

  • 5 slices of bread
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 tbsp cornflour/ custard powder
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2tin condensed milk

Method for Making Arabian Pudding

  1. Add the custard powder, sugar and vanilla essence to cold milk and mix.

Note: Once the custard powder mixes well, bring it up to a boil while stirring continuously and let it cool down.

  1. In another bowl, mix together cream and condensed milk, keep aside.
  2. Toast the bread slices very slightly.
  3. To assemble, spread 2 spoons of custard in the bottom of a serving bowl, and layer on some bread slices.
  4. Add half the custard mixture and spread evenly.
  5. Drizzle on half the cream mixture.
  6. Repeat the same process one more time with the remaining bread, custard and cream mixture.
  7. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top and let it refrigerate for a minimum of 6hrs, or better overnight.
  8. Serve cold.
