Ingredients for Making No-oil Jeera Chicken Curry

  • 400gm boneless chicken/500 gm bone-in chicken
  • 1/4th cup thick dahi, whisked until smooth
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Puree of 1 tomato
  • 2 tbsp jeera powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • Handful of coriander, chopped
  • 2 green chillies (optional)

Method for Making No-oil Jeera Chicken Curry

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients listed, and mix well. Leave it to marinate if possible, else can proceed immediately too.
  2. Heat a kadhai and add the marinated chicken to it. Cover and let it cook, stirring every few minutes. Adjust the amount of water you need. Add more water if you like a gravy, or can keep it semi-dry.
  3. Once the chicken is cooked, turn off the flame and add more coriander leaves to garnish. Serve hot.
