
Before you begin
- Time taken: 15 minutes to mix, 30 minutes to bake
- Equipment needed: Loaf tin, spatula, oven, mixing bowl
- Prep needed: grease a loaf baking tin with oil, and dust with atta
Ingredients for Making Whole-Wheat Vanilla Cake
- 1 cup thick dahi
- 3/4th cup sugar
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1.5 cups whole wheat atta
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
Method for Making Whole-Wheat Vanilla Cake
- In a mixing bowl, add thick dahi, sugar, vanilla essence and oil and whisk together. Keep aside for 10 minutes to allow the sugar to dissolve.
- Add baking powder, baking soda and whisk until it froths.
- Fold in the atta and mix well to avoid lumps.
- Transfer this to a greased and dusted loaf tin, and bake at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
- Let it rest for 15-20 minutes, demould, slice and serve warm.
