Ingredients for Making Chocolate Chunk Cookies
- 100gm butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup castor sugar / powdered sugar
If you do not have castor sugar or brown sugar, use 1/2 cup of powdered sugar - 1+1/4 cup maida or atta
- 1/2 cup chocolate chunks, or your favourite bar of chocolate, chopped up.
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp cornflour
Method for Making Chocolate Chunk Cookies
- Add castor sugar and brown sugar to melted butter and mix well.
- Add vanilla essence and mix.
- Add flour/atta, cornflour, baking soda and knead with your hands. Sprinkle some water if it does not come together. It should turn into a mouldable dough.
- Add the chocolate chunks and mix slightly with delicate hands. Do not knead too much as the chocolate will melt with the heat of your hands.
- Shape into 20 cookies, and bake for 10-12 minutes at 170 degrees. Remove from the oven when the edges are slightly golden, if you like them chewy and fudgy from the centre. Do not wait until they get fully brown, else they will get hard.
