Ingredients
- 100gm/ half cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup dahi
- 2 cups maida
- 100gm mawa/khoya
- 1/4-1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp elaichi powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
Method
- Start by greasing and dusting a cake tin/pan with butter and maida. Keep aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, dahi, crumble in the mawa/khoya, vanilla essence. Mix together and let it sit for 5 minutes allowing the sugar to dissolve.
- Once the sugar dissolves, add the maida, baking soda, baking powder and mix together. If the mawa is too dry you might need additional milk. Add upto half cup milk and mix together till it comes to a thick consistency.
- Transfer to the baking tin and bake at 180deg for 25-30 minutes with both rods on, placing in the middle rack. If you use a loaf tin, place in the lower rack.
- You can also bake this as cupcakes. In that case it will take only 10-12 minutes to bake in the middle rack.
