Green Chutney Recipe | Fresh Coriander Chutney in 5 Minutes

chutni sandwhich

Green chutney is one of those versatile condiments that instantly elevates any meal. Whether you’re serving samosas, pakoras, sandwiches, dosas, or kebabs, a spoonful of fresh coriander chutney adds a burst of flavour.

This is my quick and simple version that comes together in just five minutes with everyday ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 handful fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 small piece of ginger
  • ½ teaspoon cumin (jeera)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Water, as needed

Tips for the Best Green Chutney

  • Use fresh, vibrant coriander leaves for the brightest flavour.
  • Add water gradually to keep the chutney thick rather than watery.
  • Adjust the number of green chillies depending on your preferred spice level.
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice adds brightness and helps preserve the colour.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
